I am wondering what to do with my pink princess. She needs some help. Should I cut off and root. Plant her deeper? Just not sure. She is growing well but has a long bare stem. Thanks!

Try air layering her. Look it up on YouTube it’s pretty simple. Best of luck!

Yep I would definitely chop since the plant is using a lot of energy on just the stem. Chopping would allow her to direct more energy towards bigger leaves. She might need more light as well.

Don’t plant her deeper - that will just rot the stem.

Just by looking at the soil it looks a bit condensed. These guys do like a nice chunky soil ( a mix of perlite, Chucky bark and soil ) they really don’t like to sit in moist soil. This can cause your leaves to drop off. I’d deffo chop and propagate the top half in water or your preferred method and report other half with the roots into a more airy soil mix. 💚

I would propagate it to get several plants to put back into one pot. The new plants can cover the entire pole and give a fuller look

I recommend giving it more light to get larger leaves, less leaf drop and more variegation on the leaves. 🍀🪴

Agree that chopping is a good idea, and I definitely second the air layering advice because these ones can be finicky. When you do chop, leave a couple of the bottom nodes on the stem. She’s got a whole root system under there and will definitely activate at least one new growth point after chopping, but you might even get lucky and have 2-3, which will give you a much fuller plant. Also pay attention after you chop because she’ll need less water than before. Leaves are an important part of water balance for plants, and without the leaves it’s much harder to cope with overwatering.

Thank you all. I am working on her today. Much appreciated. Will change soil too!
