# I ordered a starter Pink Princess Philodendron from a grower on Etsy…

_Posted by Summer on 2024-04-11_

I ordered a starter Pink Princess Philodendron from a grower on Etsy today and I’m SO excited. I’m gonna name her Valentine and call her Val LOLL although, when she comes she’ll need to be re-potted and although I have experience with more grown Philodendron plants, I do not have experience with re potting younglings. Soil type? Pot size? Rare plant experts, please help!!

I don’t have it yet that’s why I wanted to ask my questions before she arrived but this is a picture from a review of the same plant in the same size plant that I bought so it should look something like this!

i dont think u should repot it right away just leave it in the pot until u see roots coming out of the bottom of the pot

Any suggestions on soil and pots size for when it does need to be re-potted?

I would suggest a well draining aroid soil, possibly with perlite or orchid bark mixed in for extra drainage. When you get it you should put it in a sunny spot so I can continue to grow variegated leaves. Remember to only water it when the soil is completely dry.
