# Hi 😊 Army Veteran 🫡 \& New here. I’m not sure this is the right…

Hi 😊  
Army Veteran 🫡 \& New here. I’m not sure this is the right plant(Philodendron) however I used the app to diagnose him. His name is ‘Blue’ 🩵. I just recently ordered a humidifier and the amount of sun you see is about how much sunlight he gets. There are 6 other plants nearby and I see no signs of ‘enemies’ 🙄 However, he isn’t as perky as I’d like. Does he look ok? The app says he’s sick. 🫣 Aside from the humidifier arriving soon…. Any other tips? I also mist him and the others daily and water according to the apps recommendations.

what are you using for your potting mix?

Rosy Soil \& I only repotted once since last month when I received it.

i don’t know anything about that brand so i can’t say if that could be contributing. it might just be getting a combination of slightly overwatered and maybe not enough sunlight. if watering less doesn’t help it perk up and if you can’t give it more a bit more sun you may want to look into getting a grow light.

It’s under one. It runs from 8 am to 3 pm during the day. The other windows get little to no sun. This is the sunniest room in the house. 😉 I’ll keep an eye on him.

\*I added the sticky things in because I spotted one bug yesterday. Haven’t seen any more but I’m trying to be proactive instead of reactive. I also added Bonide systemic.

also, check the soil with your finger rather than following planta’s schedule. you can use it as a guide but i often find it’s not accurate to what the plant needs

Is the node that the leaf is coming from under the soil? If so, it is likely killing off that leaf and going to put out roots there
