# I bought this philodendron a month ago and its health is going…

I bought this philodendron a month ago and its health is going rapidly downhill. Does anyone know what I could try?

Also, they labelled it as a Birkin but it doesn’t look anything like one?

Looks like rot to be honest. Have you checked the roots? Unfortunately the stem might even be rotting and if your node is rotted you won’t be able to reroot. So:

Remove it from the soil. Check to see if there is any soft mushy roots or stem. Cut that off and see what you have left. If can save at least one node then you can reroot it in water. But I can see the yellow coming up the stem so fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Thanks for the advice! 😊 just tried it and it’s rotted right up to the surface so RIP 😭
