When you guys cut off a damaged leaf do you cut just the leaf off or do you cut the stem and the leaf off close to the base?

I cut the leaf. Then the stem just kinda turns yellow and falls off

Prune back all the way to the adjoining trunk when removing a leaf. The reason for doing this when pruning any plant inside or outside is so that the remaining portion of stem etc…will continue to take nutrients from healthy, growing tissue. This keeps the plant healthier and a more pleasing over all look. 🙂
