# Hi, I just grabbed this beautiful plant from Costco. It was only…

Hi, I just grabbed this beautiful plant from Costco. It was only listed as “Philodendron” on all labels but I was wondering what type this would be since they all seem to need different care? The leaves are VERY big, probably could fit my hand four times under the bigger leaves.

Thank you so much for any IDs or advice!

This is not a philodendron. It’s a monstera deliciosa!

Oh, I’ve wanted a monstera for so long! 😄 I’m pretty new to plants in general, I was excited because this plant had kinda that monstera look haha. Thank you! I would have hated to kill her with the wrong kind of care 😭

Costco can have some surprisingly good plants. I got a monstera from them, it was also super big, but it had fungus gnats really bad. 😢

Oh nooo. I hope mine does not have them. I have no clue how to deal with things like that yet; I’m pretty new :’)

They do have amazing deals though. A lot of my little jungle are from their 3-plant sets!

If you shake the pot a bit and little flies come out, then you have fungus gnats. They can get into other plants so keep the infected one in quarantine. You can change the soil if it's really bad but some friends are here say that sprinkling the soil with mosquito granules helps to get rid of them.
