Have the leaves been falling off of the base of the plant or all over the vine? If it is the earliest leaves of the plant, it could just be senescence. Even leaves can die of old age. If they aren’t falling off the base alone, it could potentially be time for a repot

I repotted about a year ago. I think it might be because I was a couple days late for a watering

That could definitely be it. I went on vacation and my smallest plant (an N’Joy Pothos) lost a leaf from its soil being too dry
