# I’m a plant noobie and just tried propagating my pothos plant by…

I’m a plant noobie and just tried propagating my pothos plant by taking a couple branches and doing water propagation. I think the cuttings seem to be already trying to sprout new leaves (see picture). How long until I can expect this on the original plant? It is about two feet from an east facing window.

Hi! If you are referring to the brown bump across from the leaf, that’s a node/where the roots will grow from! It can take a few weeks for the roots to establish and then you will start getting leaves in an another week to few!
