Could be either. Are you checking to make sure the soil is dry on top before you water?

Yellow leaves can also occur when plants are root bound or from pest damage. How do the roots look?

Could be both! It’s good to use the chopstick method to check the soil to see if dry or wet, if it’s wet don’t water/ or don’t water much if you’re going somewhere for a while. If it’s dry I’d even wait another day to water it still! This is just works for me I’m not an expert or anything! Hope I was of use and hope this works!
