I am so grateful for this community as I build my skills. I brought this Pothos home from a co-workers office because it was long, leggy, limp, and dropping. The pot and soil were soaked so I released it from the pot (same terra cotta one you see here), inspected the roots which looked ok, removed several leaves, cleaned the pot, repotted it with my own airy potting mix, trimmed the stems and planted some of the nodes by wrapping some of the stems spirally around the top, and watered it well. 12 hours later, it is still limp and the towel underneath it is very damp despite letting it drain significantly when I watered it. Have I made the situation worse? I'm wondering if the pot is too big. I'm also wondering if I should just cut down to the roots and start again in a smaller pot. Any advice would be great!

I'm wondering if it might just need a bit more time to bounce back? If there's water still draining, into a towel, it might be too wet still. Sometimes when I repot a plant I bring home from the store, I won't water it right away due to the store soaking them and letting them sit in water! Good luck!

If you got rid of the old wet soil, it will just need time to adjust. There is still probably old soil around the roots that will take a while to dry. The terracotta was an excellent choice to help this poor plant. It will hopefully bounce back in a few days. Giving it some indirect light will help out also.

I really appreciate the reminrds that patience is a huge part of this process! NOT my strong suit 🤣
