Does anyone know what this plant is? I got it recently, but the tag only said “philodendron”. Some apps say velvet leaf, other apps say different.

Looks like a philodendron for sure, if you want a more scientifically accurate name for species or variety just reference philodendron phylogenetic tree and image match the leaves for each species in the genus philodendron. The family is Aracea. You may need to wait until it flowers to be 100% sure

It looks like a gloriosum, especially if the leaves are velvety.
