# I was gifted this plant from a neighbor and told this was an African…

I was gifted this plant from a neighbor and told this was an African violet but when I took a picture of it on my phone it said something else? What are your thoughts? Should I give up on this plant?

Could be an African violet that is really struggling…

How should I help it? She had it inside on a counter didn’t think it got enough sun. She’s been watering it from the bottom. I have it on my patio and I’m pretty sure it gets indirect light most of the time. I just got it yesterday.

I’m not very good with them but it looks like a watering issue. They don’t like wet feet. Terra cotta pots or African violet pots help prevent excess water. They do like regular fertilizer when healthier. There are good YouTube videos that are specific to violets. I would recommend getting fresh African violet soil mix and repot. Good luck.
