Alright, this dude is having a hard time so forgive his looks at the moment. That said I have no idea what this plant is. Any advice?

Planta says it’s an onion plant 🤪  
What is that stalk thing in the background? Is it a support or part of the plant? It’s giving orchid vibes … but not Phaelenopsis the other kind that I can’t remember the name of … dendrobium?

Oh thats a stick I put in there to hold the poor thing up. i forgot to mention that. 😹 it’s a succulent, I know that much about it. It’s leaves are kind of like gasteria leaves, but I don’t know if it’s in the same family or not. I can understand the onion thing. It’s lost so many leaves that the stem really looks oniony.
