# My husband picked this up off the side of the road with a free sign…

_Posted by Magpie on 2026-04-16_

My husband picked this up off the side of the road with a free sign stuck to it. He thought it was dead but I might want the planter. Obviously I've trained him well. I repotted it from the tiny no drainage pot with compacted soil, and the roots seem surprisingly good. I don't know much else about cactus and will definitely need Plantas help, but I have no idea what it is. Any suggestions? tia

It’s a fish hook barrel cactus. I have one as well! ☺️
