# My dracena lemon lime that I acquired as a young plant last June is…

_Posted by Jackpot on 2026-04-19_

My dracena lemon lime that I acquired as a young plant last June is still the same size now and I don’t understand why it’s not growing, it looks perfectly healthy just no bigger than when I first got it, it’s on a windowsill out of direct sun, watered exactly as directed

The lemon lime is from the tropical forests in Africa. They’re extremely slow growers indoors 🤣 about 6-8 inches in growth a year imo.

Haven’t had any growth in 10 months

Do you fertilize? If not, I would throw in some well balanced 2-1-3 if you can.

Have you reported it? Some new fresh soil might help

Yea it was repotted

The soil looks very peat-heavy, which isn’t really the greatest for dracaenas ‘cause it retains a lot of moisture. They prefer to dry out a bit. I’d repot it in a light and airy soil mix. Mine are in a mix that’s about 60% potting soil, 30% perlite, and 10% orchid bark.

I will try that thanks

No problem! Good luck. ☺️

Is the soil light and airy and drains well?

Probably a bit heavy I will repot

I would fertilize every time you water. Put it in the brightest spot in your house. If you can put it out this summer you might get growth.
