Hi everyone! So my baby boy with ASD has been really into plants lately and asked me to buy this little guy at the store one day. He named him Water 😊 any idea what kind of plant Water is?

The foliage looks like a Dahlia but I’m not certain.

I took it to Pike and one of the workers there said that it’s in the aralia family. Mom and I think we’ve narrowed it down to an Evergreen aralia. Maybe growth inhibitors sprayed on store plants are why the leaves aren’t elongated yet? What do y’all think?
