# My new family member has arrived! She is a Hoya Insularis, a wishlist…

My new family member has arrived! She is a Hoya Insularis, a wishlist plant! She has burgundy under the leaves! 😍

I try to avoid buying mail order plants in colder months for fear of them freezing after unexpected delivery delays. This has happened before with the heat pack losing heat during the delays and several plants were DOA. But, this was priced right and in stock.

Oohhhhh fancy! Especially this time of year. I have a few plants coming in the mail, I'm hoping they'll be fine 🙏🏼

The temperatures have stayed higher that normal for December. I have hoyas and a succulent putting out blooms! So, I delayed moving them inside. I’m bringing my plants in today with forecasts predicting 37°F by Wednesday. 🥶 I usually have all plants inside by Halloween.

This is from Canopy Plants in New Orleans, Louisiana. They quickly sell out this Hoya Insularis, like most sellers. I lucked out this time.
