# I am new here and I just bought two plants that said they were Hoyas…

_Posted by Christine on 2024-11-10_

I am new here and I just bought two plants that said they were Hoyas but when I looked them up, I can’t seem to find the plants that look like my plants on the app. Can anybody tell me exactly what they are? Or if they’re even Hoyas. Thank you.

The one on the left looks like a carnosa green, but I’m not 100% sure.

The one on the right looks like a variegated burtoniae. Here’s what mine looks like!

Look up the brand name, they give them silly names for fun but I think the varigated one is burtoniae, esp if it has the name "seastones" bc i also got one from them a few months ago. The proven winners website includes their scientific name. Im sorry i cant help with the second but it should tell u. The burtoniae has red flowers that ppl say smells like kettle corn or something along those lines. Super exciting, both definitely hoyas no doubt.

Definitely Hoya. Hoyas are cultivated a LOT so you will see a crap ton that look similar.

I think the one on the right in the pic is a Hoya DS70 variegated, the left looks like carnosa. The burtoniae, ds70 issue was hard to get clarity on.
