CARE INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT’S A SUCKER AND HOW DO I FIND IT?

A sucker is a small shoot located in the joint between a branch and the stem. It should be removed to save energy and nutrition for the tomatoes.

HOW DO I REMOVE IT?

When the sucker has grown to about 2-4 inches, grab it between your thumb and index finger and pinch it off by the base.

PINCH OFF THE TOP

In the latter part of summer, if the plant has grown tall and wobbly, you can pinch off the top of the plant. This helps the already-developed tomatoes to have time to ripen.
